The measure of a man is his mind and the thoughts that dominate it. Isaac Watts is said to have stood in the carriage and responded with great poetic exuberance. As the parade passed, with Watts centre stage, enjoying the adulation of the gathered masses, one woman is said to have cried out in astonishment, “What? You are Issac Watts? Physically, however, Watts is said to have been a diminutive man. The streets were teaming with those who admired his talents. Later in his life a parade was held in his honour in London. He was recognised as the "Father of English Hymnody", credited with some 750 hymns. Isaac Watts, a well known English writer, theologian and logician was a prolific and popular hymn writer. Awareness is a necessary first step to achieving change. ![]() So how does your mind measure up? Hmm – what a question! If you are not happy with how you measure up, all is not lost, there is hope born out of that realisation. But the true measure of a person is the mind, its capacity and capability to think. Many times people are measured by their social class, height, weight, colour, gender, ethnicity, etc. ![]()
